An Appalachian Christmas Feast:
Stories and Recipes From the Mountains
This project was created as an example for one of my high school graphic design assignments, where students were tasked with developing their own thematic cookbook. To model the creative process and showcase layout, typography, and storytelling techniques, I chose to build a sample cookbook concept based on Appalachian Christmas traditions. An Appalachian Christmas Feast blends regional recipes with warm, nostalgic stories and folk-inspired design. While my students each explored their own unique cookbook themes, this piece served as a guiding example of how to thoughtfully combine narrative, photography, and visual hierarchy into a cohesive publication.
